Ranchera/Frontera - My Hometown
This is a solemn photo I took one day while visiting my hometown. Across my street in South Texas, there is a field of corn plowed by migrant workers during the summer months. It's always dusty and hot during that time and the African/Sahara Dust makes the air thick with red sand. It can be hard to breathe.
Van Gogh's style made for a swirling contrast of the migrant farmers working through the early morning hours of dawn until dusk, not unlike the industrious city illumined after a hard day's work at night.
