CHVRCHES - Leave a Trace

I was going through a break-up of sorts before picking this song and later realizing the meaning of the lyrics by the artist.   According to the band, it’s about dropping the mic on a relationship that is not healthy, so why bother talking it over, when you can just walk away?  My movements were rather frenetic throughout and disjointed, with parts of fluidity. 

“Relief” for me, in the song, meant closure, which I hadn’t received just yet.  

This dance was a form of closure for me.  It helped me to physically/sensationally release the stress energies I was carrying from this person.  Using my body, I was able to express what words and phrases could not, as my words might have fallen on deaf ears and left me feeling more bitter in the end. This was a liberating experience for me and the essence of improvisation.
